THE GLOWING NIGHTMARE

Moldavia j xavier was a computer whiz. He spends most of his time in front of his computer, downloading programs, doing everything to make his computer perfect.

As you might notice, his favourite subject was information technology or in short, info tech .his teachers always ask him for help with the computer. Xavier knows everything about anything through the computer except one topic “fighting your nightmares”. As a small kid, xavier always had problems with his nightmares. Xavier has a big imagination that triggers during the night. While everyone are dreaming of meeting their favourite stars, xavier will be dreaming of dark caves, dungeons, cauldrons and anything scary u read in fairytales, except, they never have a good ending.

One bright tuesday, xavier was surfing the internet again as usual, when he read an article on nightmares. It reads, “having problems with nightmares? Go down to “diagon-ally” and get the potion to cure it” thinking it might be useful; xavier decided to go there tomorrow, after school.

The next day, xavier asks his best friend keith if he could follow him to diagonally to get the potion. Keith looked shocked when xavier suggested the idea of making a trip to diagonally. Puzzled, xavier asks what was wrong. Keith replied in a soft whisper that diagonally was a place where it has been rumoured that no one ever came out normal once they step into diagonally. Curious, xavier decided to bring a video camera to tape down everything he saw .to show people why normal people come out to be come weirdoes.

Soon after the schools over bell rang, xavier took a trip home to pick up his video camera before taking a train to diagonally. Finally, the last stop arrived. Xavier came out of the train (it was now deserted.) And looked around to see signboards everywhere when suddenly an old woman in her late sixties appeared before him and ask in a croaky voice if he was lost. Xavier got so shocked that he fell to the ground. The old lady looking not a slightest apologetic said she was sorry and offered to lift him up. Long scaly hands reached out to lift him up with not a slightest hint of old age strength. The powerful hands gripped tightly on to Xavier’s hand and pulled him towards her. “where do you wish to go?” The old lady asked. Before the answer can reach his mouth, they had appeared in front of a shop that says” potions serving u” xavier turned around wanting to thank the old lady but she had disappeared leaving a shadow of green smoke where the old lady stood before she disappeared…

GHOSTVILLE HIGH

It is the first day of school for Trinity Lovewood. Having just moved house, she felt foreign in the foreign town of Ghostville, it was such a sudden decision Trinity was not even aware of it until the day they were to move. She felt so lonely in the new town that sometimes in the middle of the night she cries herself to sleep. For her parents, it seems like the total opposite of her. They seem to know everyone in the town like long lost friends, always chatting away happily. It puzzled her when she saw some statues of people with names like Grinnell Lovewood and Jacob Lovewood. They were all somehow related to her but her parents never talked about them before. What puzzled her even more was the charm she was given on the first day of school.

Holding on to the charm now, she read the label on it. “Ghost away lucky charm, to be kept close at all time unless in times of need.”

She recalled her parents saying “Don’t ever open it unless you encounter something you don’t like. Remember!” Her parents had sounded so serious that she never thought of opening it.

Arriving at her new school, Ghostville High, Trinity tidied her outfit and walked in feeling excited. What she saw shocked her quite a lot for it was so different from her previous school. Everywhere, people wore dark dull coloured clothes and wore dark dull expressions. It felt like going into a school for ghost. However, Trinity is about to find out how true that was.

Stepping into the head masters office, Trinity found it empty. Figuring that the principal probably went out to get a cup of coffee, she took a seat on an armchair and observed the several portraits of previous headmasters. They all looked very strict and dull. The weird thing was that on every portrait, a blurry white object could be seen in the background. If you looked closer, you might be able to make out a face.

Before Trinity could make out the face, the headmaster has arrived. He took a glance at Trinity then went to his desk. His voice boomed in the office as he spoke.

“You must be the new student in our school. What is you name?”

“Trinity sir, Trinity Lovewood is my name.”

“I see, I see. Well well, a Lovewood say. Very good, I would not have to trouble myself with explaining our schools special occurrence to you then.”
